EP62: The Spectacular Crash of the Record Industry In The Digital Age w/ Steve Knopper
Steve Knopper is an author and contributing editor and writer for Rolling Stone, Wired Magazine, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times. In 2009, Steve released Appetite For Self Destruction, which detailed the Napster era of the music industry and revealed some of the most reactionary and disastrous events of the industries history.
In this episode, our co-Founders sit down with Steve to discuss the book, which has become a tome for alternative thinkers in the music industry. We also take some time to talk about how the book was recently updated and discuss how the music industry has since recovered.
The concepts pushed forth by Indepreneur were largely innovated in response to the revelations made in Steve's book and others like it. If you want to know the "why" behind this Indie movement, you don't want to miss this episode!
